Before coming to Sweden I had short vacations, during which I travelled a little bit. Visited Krynica (Polish mountains, very nice, little town) and Barcelona. Architecture in Barcelona is just insane, there’s no other word. Gaudi was a crazy genius. Sagrada Familia is irrational, it just doesn’t make sense to plan and try to build something like that, but when you see it you still can’t help it but feel it’s worth the effort. Hopefully we’ll live to see it finished. I also was fortunate enough to visit the city during one of the most spectacular weeks for their football team. I’ve witnessed both their win over Real Madrid (6:2) and draw with Chelsea promoting Barca to CM finals. Not really a big FCB supporter, but it’s an interesting experience to see entire city going crazy for whole night.

During my visit in Barcelona I’ve seen Grin’s office, thinking it would be cool to work there (just near the beach). Not even three weeks have passed and they closed Spanish studio :/. It’s been a tough month for Swedish gamedev altogether. Before coming here I thought that if things wouldn’t work out with SBZ, I was covered, there’s always Avalanche, Grin, DICE, Massive… One month later both Avalanche and Grin suffered from lay-offs. Grim times for our industry, good luck for all folks affected.

[Edit] LOL, this is disturbing. Been checking FireStats logs and appearently one of most popular recent referrers is Google search for “soapy hand job sweden”. I don’t even want to start to think about that.
